German Renewables Award 2022 and Renewable Energy Cluster Agency summer celebration on 24 August at Kaispeicher Altona

This year, the Renewable Energy Cluster Agency is once again presenting the German Renewables Award in a total of six categories: Product Innovation of the Year, Project of the Year, Hydrogen Innovation of the Year, Student Thesis of the Year, Journalism Award and Lifetime Achievement.

Numerous innovative and exciting submissions were received, ranging from product innovations for wind & solar energy, storage and Artificial Intelligence, through heating & cooling and district development projects, to hydrogen innovations for the production and/or transport and use of (green) hydrogen.  We were also pleased to receive a number of high-quality submissions in the Student Thesis of the Year category.

Four of the six winners have already been determined by an independent panel of representatives from business and research during a two-stage selection process. At this point in time, the winners of the Hydrogen Innovation of the Year and Journalism Award categories have not yet been determined. This year’s submissions for the Hydrogen Innovation category was pre-selected during a live vote by those attending the The Blue Beach event. Applicants will present their entries in advance in the form of a speed pitch. A few days later, the panel will then finally evaluate the three submissions with the most votes and choose the winner. A separate panel consisting of representatives/experts from the media industry will determine the winner of the Journalism Award category.

All the winners will be announced at the award ceremony on 24 August 2022 at Altonaer Kaispeicher. This year, we are combining this event with our Renewable Energy Cluster Agency summer celebration, which means that the award ceremony will be immediately followed by a party. Hopefully the weather will be good.
