Fairplay Schleppdampfschiffs-Reederei Richard Borchard GmbH (market presence as Fairplay Towage) is a tugboat shipping company with headquarters in Hamburg. It is also the parent company of the Fairplay Towage Group. The FAIRPLAY TOWAGE GROUP is one of the leading towing companies in Europe. Our group of companies offers various maritime services from a single source: this includes tug and mooring services, salvage, coastal protection and accident prevention as well as the classic shipyard work of shipbuilding, repairs and steel work as well as property management.

The FAIRPLAY TOWAGE GROUP includes the traditional tugboat companies FAIRPLAY TOWAGE the Hamburg shipyard THEODOR BUSCHMANN and 50% MULTRASHIP TOWAGE & SALVAGE in the Netherlands.

We are at home in 29 ports in Europe and offer our maritime services worldwide. Our head office is in Hamburg and we have further offices in all major European ports such as Rotterdam, Antwerp and Bremerhaven. Along the German North Sea and Baltic Sea coasts we are active in several smaller ports as well as in the Polish ports of Szczecin, Swinoujscie and Gdynia. This allows us to respond to our customers' wishes with a high degree of flexibility and to have a tugboat exactly where you need it within a very short time. We are also present in the Mediterranean region with our tugs.

With the merger of BUGSIER Reederei -u. Bergungs-GmbH & Co KG with FAIRPLAY TOWAGE in 2017, we have expanded our leading position in the European market for tugboat services: 105 tugs are flexibly deployed to safely escort giant ships in and out of Europe's ports. We assist container ships and bulk carriers as well as passenger ships and large tankers.

Thanks to our long-standing commitment to COAST PROTECTION, our ships are positioned at strategic locations in the North and Baltic Seas. This means that in an emergency they can provide assistance within the shortest possible time in accordance with the German government's national emergency towing concept. Three of our tugs including crew are chartered out to the German government for this purpose.

THEODOR BUSCHMANN carries out smaller ship repairs in ports all over the world, the larger ones in the Hamburg shipyard. And if desired, the mobile intervention team remains on board during the crossing until the repairs are completed. This way, you continue to stay on course while we repair the ship.
